Happy weelend from Roskilde Libraries 🖖 After two weeks of closed libraries and staff sent home I got two humble conclusions; Libraries, learning and cultural activity as a driver for stronger communities don’t becomes less significant in the times of a crisis and the library staff is without comparison the most valuable asset of a public library These days - both locally and nationally - I experience a tremendous spirit, energy, wealth and willingness to find alternative solutions to constantly make a positive difference for citizens and it makes me happy, proud and optimistic. #COVID19 is closing Denmark down and all ‘non-critical’ public institutions will be closed for the next 14 days including schools, universities and libraries. We closed down all our libraries, citizens services and archives today. I endorse the Danish government to be steadfast in a situation like this.
